Optimization of the process parameters for micro-milling thin-walled micro-parts using advanced algorithms

The surface integrity and machining accuracy of thin-walled micro-parts are significantly affected by micro-milling parameters mostly because their weak stiffness. Furthermore, there is still a lack studies focusing on parameter optimization for the fabrication micro-scale parts. In this paper, an innovative approach proposed with objectives quality dimension accuracy, which integrates Taguchi method, principal component analysis method (PCA), non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II). study, arithmetic average height Sa, root mean square Sq, 3-D fractal Ds selected to evaluate quality. Then experiments conducted based method. According experimental results, influence processing has been investigated cutting force stability analysis, significance can be determined range analysis. Besides, regression models responses developed comparatively, PCA employed reduction objective space. Finally, two combinations highest satisfaction obtained through NSGA-II, verification carried out. results show that parts simultaneously improved using approach.
